Katana Terminology

Kris Cutlery

The standard series of Kris Cutlery katanas offers an economical katana with no shrills koshirae. The blades are differentially tempered, but from what I hear, the hamon is not easily visible. The blade geometry appears to be correct, but the kissaki needs a little bit of work. The yokote is not as clearly visible as it should be. I also hear that the tsuka is epoxied to the nakago. Review of the KC 26 standard series

The Bingo Mihara katana is KC's higher end sword. Once again, the fit and finish is not perfect, but everything that *needs to be there is there. The Elite series offers more traditional and nicer koshirae and a better defined kissaki as well as a bohi. As far as I know, the tuska is NOT epoxied. Review of the Bingo Mihara 29" katana
